Day 2- Khan el-khalili Bazaar, Cairo

The guide who took us around the Pyramids lead us further on to a different place, and i kept asking where we were going but he wouldn't tell me, and i was getting worried because he was leading our horses down narrow alleys...we came out on to the main road and he stopped in front of a perfume store...the British Embassy bloke who helped us was living there...we wanted to go but he wouldn't let us until we came inside, so we thought we might as well because we needed the rest...when we came in he had a table with food laid out and drinks, we had lunch with him.. Egyptians r really hospitable, but my friend was right she reckons he only did that so we would buy some perfume, so she bought some for £2.50...

We left from there in his car, and his driver took us back to our hotel...No sooner had we got there, another friend of mine arrived, she was living in Helipolis, about 10mins from Cairo...so we all went out to Khan el-Khalili, a massive bazaar which is really famous in Egypt...its like a labyrinth of alleyways lined with shops...i bought my mum a huge bottle, light blue and clear with gold work all over it and in a beautiful curvy shape, she always wanted something like that to put in the fireplace in the living room at home...and i got some small perfume bottles for my sister using the money she gave me...The bazaar was amazing, like something out of Aladdin...fish, juice stalls, cushions, clothes, shoes, jewellery, perfume, all mixed up!

We came out of Khan el-Khalili and we were just sitting on the wall of the mosque, while my friend was making a phone call and we saw this little 3 year old girl doing a poo in the...it was so gross but a reminder of the poverty around us! The mother just sat there and let her do this.

So then we left and took a taxi back to the Nile and had dinner in a seafood restaurant on a boat...and we had to pick the fish from a tank first!!!! WELL weird...i had shrimp and Denis Fish...it was really tasty!!!! and the view of the Nile was beautiful..

We left there and went back to the hotel, because it was about 12pm now, and then we agreed to meet tomorrow in the afternoon to go to the famous museum...
