The idea to go to cairo was sooo random and fast, we thought about going at 3pm ish and then we were on the train at 6pm...by the time we got there it was 8pm...we searched for a hotel for 2hours, each one we went to was awful, until we found Victoria Hotel..that was a bit more expensive but well worth the money! Still only £9/night..which is really good in comparison to English standards!
So after that we went out for an Italian meal in Da Mario's in the Nile Hilton...that was nice, but not my choice of restuarant, i would've gone for a Lebanese, but my friend really wanted the Italian. Its sooo nice in the Hilton, much better standard and decor than the Hiltons in London..After that we strolled along the edge of the Nile and we saw some colourful boats and people were just getting on, so we didn't know how much it was or for how long the cruise was, but we got on anyway...There were these colourful lights decorating the boat and there were about thirty people on one...oh yeh, and music loud enough to make you deaf! We only paid 2piasters, which is 2p...and then we went on this cruise for about 15min...it was well funny, there was this big group of guys at one end of the boat, and one of them got up and started dancing like a woman! And then all the blokes except two, started dancing, they behave like women, pulling each other up to dance and being shy about it..like one was saying, “no no its okay” and wouldn't get up and then when he did get up, he did the best dance out of all of them...such a girly thing to do! I didn't want to spend the time watching them because i came on for the cruise, so i just looked out on to the Nile which meant turning my back towards them...it was sooo nice, so calm and peaceful with beautiful hotels and palm trees along the shore...
After the boat came back to the dock..we got off and then we went strolling over the bridge over the Nile, and Samia took a pic of me with my camera because it was such a nice view, we carried on until we got to the other side..i swear that bridge was LONG! We eventually got a horse and carriage to take us to the Egypt tower, it has a revolving restaurant at the top and a beautiful view of the city. The horse and carriage was really nice! I really liked that, a good way of getting around...slow enough to see the sites...But when we got there the tower was closed and that is when we realised the time, it was 2am...and these soldiers said to us that we should go home, its late...they were just sitting around guarding the tower...so they got us a taxi and we went all the way back to the hotel!
