Since i was a girl, i love eating pastries, not the cream filled ones, they seem too much , i prefer stuff like cinnamon whirls, brownies, iced buns etc...such fatty foods, and yet so addictive. Its just that it goes with tea, even biscuits come under this addictive category, its like i can't have a cup of tea without something to go with it..so i reckon if i cut out my tea, i'd probably be able to cut out my devilish diet more easily! On a cold day, a pastry with a hot cup of tea is like heaven, it makes a perfect breakfast and mid-day snack. I think this is making me sound like a pig, i don't really eat that many pastries, but i definitely want to!!
But you know what, i found a tasty but healthy snack that can go with tea and cuts out all that pastry and biscuits that pile on the pounds, its Jacobs crackers and cheese or any topping you like...its healthy, low fat and surprisingly filling! Brilliant alternative. I've always wanted to try Ryvita rice cakes, i think i'll give that a try as well, all though they don't seem that filling..
Fruit is nice, but it always seems to cold and not a relaxing kind of food to eat, i feel like certain foods can help to relax a stressed out person...like pastries, tea, coffee..i don't know maybe its the heat of the tea plus the softness and subtle sweetness of the pastry that can't defuse any form of stress whereas fruits are more like 'wake up' foods, cold with a pang!...its wierd but if i go on a train, i always feel like having a tea and pastry, maybe because there is always a shop selling those items on the station floor, or maybe i find travelling quite stressful.
Funnily enough, there aren't any other foods that i find relaxing in their effect, but i know smoking helps to relax people too...chocolate is known for the same effect too! These foods are definitely releasing certain chemicals in the brain making us feel relaxed...i wonder if in the future, scientists will be able to put these chemicals into fruit and other healthy foods, wouldn't that be brilliant! So are fat people, inwardly stressed people, eating to help them relax?? Perhaps. But i'm sure that these people have many issues regarding their wieght not just one.
